La CLINICA del PUEBLO de RIO ARRIBA

Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico

Repeat clients: 3 phases, including:

– addition and renovations

– administrative, EMS & dental additions

– County health wing addition

Simple forms respect and stretch the local traditional architecture.  Completed on a tight budget, the first phase led to 2 further projects with these clients, as well as other work in the Chama Valley including the school district, the Village of Chama, and the Ganados del Valle weaving cooperative in Los Ojos.

The original structure was adobe.  We transformed the facility with new roof lines and functional entries and new sanitary finishes.  Staff input gave us and them insight and developed deep support for the changes.

A new glass dormer: the first of many we have designed provides natural light and a new way of seeing traditional forms.
